Xiaomi Mi 7 will be rolling out in the coming weeks. Check out expected specifications and rumors about the upcoming flagship killer.
Just after the successful Q1 earnings call from Xiaomi and stellar sales for the Mi 6, the rumor mill is already filled with leaks that detail the specifications of the company’s next flagship.
While the SD 845 powered Mi MIX 2S is expected to be rolled out at the upcoming MWC 2018, Xiaomi’s flagship for the masses, Mi 7, is expected to hit the shelves a little later in 2 or 3 months.
As outlined by some of the analysts, the Xiaomi Mi 7 will be rolling out in the first quarter of the year and the larger variant of the smartphone, Mi 7 Plus, is rumored to accompany it. A leaked benchmark screenshot, detailing the specifications of the phone, were recently leaked on a Chinese forum:
Design and Display
When translated, the specs detailed in the image show a 5.6-inch screen for the Mi 7 (The bigger variant is expected to sport a 6.01-inch screen).
Other than that, it will have a 2160 x 1080 pixel FHD+ resolution for the display, while the screenshot leads us to believe that the screen will support an aspect ratio of 18:9, with a bezel-less frame.
The regular followers are confident that the device will flaunt enhanced waterproofing features and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, to make way for the bezel-less screen up front.
Hardware and OS
The obvious part about the device is that it will be powered by Qualcomm SnapDragon 845. The specs sheet also revealed that the phone is expected to come with a massive 8 GB of RAM along with 128 GB of internal storage. A slightly lower-end version may roll out with 6 GB RAM and 64 GB of internal storage.

Xiaomi Mi 7 will be running Android Nougat by out of the box, with MIUI 9.
Camera and Battery
It will feature a dual camera setup based on a couple of 16 MP sensors, presumably from Sony. Similar to Huawei’s Mate 10, Mi 7 will be powered by an AI to enhance low light photography.
Moreover, with this huge screen and powerful hardware, Xiaomi is slated to bring a huge battery – 4,500 mAh in size.
However, take it all with a pinch of salt as Xiaomi has a tendency to limit large batteries for its Redmi series or large sized flagships. The standard flagship Mi series usually doesn’t have a 4000+ mAh battery.
Other Features
Besides the mainstream hardware specifications, Xiaomi is focusing on other attractive features too. One of such features in the Xiaomi Mi 7 is rumored to be wireless charging which was pioneered by Samsung. Also, the adaptive fast charging feature is anticipated, which increases the durability of the battery, so that it stays good as new even after a year or two.
The price tag of the Xiaomi Mi 7 is expected to be around 3,000 Yuan or around Rs. 52,000.
