e-cigarettes still increase risks of cancer and heart diseases, report

A new study has revealed that usage of, the otherwise considered safe, electronic cigarettes still increases the chances of cancer in humans. The public has mostly presumed electronic cigarette to be a safe alternative, but this might not actually be the case. A  new study  published by the researchers at New York University School of Medicine states that the consumption of nicotine through the use of electronic cigarettes is still harmful to the living beings as it still increases the chances of cancer and heart-related diseases. The researchers based their research on a series of laboratory tests which they performed on mice. Mice were subjected to the nicotine smoke equivalent to 10 years of smoking light e-cigarettes. The scientists found out that the mice suffered higher DNA damages in their heart, lungs, and bladder. Samsung beats Intel to become the world’s largest chipmaker by revenue

Intel’s 25-year dominance as the world’s largest chipset seller has ended. Intel, the largest chipmaking company based in America has been defeated by South Korean electronics giant Samsung in its own play. Samsung has announced   record-breaking $50 billion profit for the year 2017, and fourth quarter record with $14.1 billion earned largely from selling marked-up components, rather than Galaxies. The components include memory modules, displays, and processors, but it’s the chip business that made it rain for Samsung in 2017. The company has not even itself highlighted the fact in the annual report that the Samsung made $69 billion of revenue from the chipset manufacturing, while the former champion in this domain Intel (also known as Chipzilla), earned $63 billion revenue during the same period. Finally, Oreo update is rolling out to OnePlus 5T users. After OxygenOS Oreo Open Beta for the OnePlus 5T, the famed Chinese flagship killer is finally releasing stable Android 8.0 Oreo OTA to its latest flagship OnePlus 5T. The beta testing for the smartphone is complete and the OxygenOS 5.0.2 is rolling out over the air. OnePlus uses a customized version of Android called OxygenOS in its smartphones. With this OxygenOS 5.0.2, based on Android 8.0 Oreo, the OnePlus 5T gains lots of new features and improvements. The changelog says this update adds Oreo features like picture-in-picture mode, improved auto-fill, smart text selection, and a new Quick Settings design. The update has brought a new design for Quick settings as well as new versions for some system apps. It squashes several bugs, the biggest fix can be considered as the mitigation for Spectre-style attacks. Huawei’s Honor 7X to get face unlock feature with a software update

Huawei’s Honor 7X  which is one of the adequate choices in mid-range market segments of smartphones is going to get another fascinating feature i.e. face lock, which is already present in some premium Android manufacturers such as OnePlus 5T.
