LG Announces 3 New Gram Laptops with All Day Battery Life

LG is introducing the successors to the lightweight Gram laptop it released last year. The new line includes three versions – in 13.3″, 14″ and 15″ sizes – to cater to requirements and tastes of a wider audience.
Once again the design takes the centerpiece, with the laptops all weighing either below or slightly above the 1-kilogram mark. The design is still highly durable, made of carbon magnesium alloy and comes with MIL-ST 810G certification for protection against pressure, temperature, and shock. It is by no means a rugged machine, though.
The display comes with Full HD 1080p resolution by default, with the option of a touch-enabled panel for users who need it. The design is also efficient, with the 14″ version coming effectively in the body of a 13″ panel. Above the display sits a webcam.
The new laptops come with an 8th-generation Core i5 and i7 processors with an option of two solid state drives for storage. The RAM amount is still under the covers.
Audio improvements are brought by DTS Headphone X sound onboard, with up to 11.1 channels of surround sound.
For added security, there will be an optional, embedded fingerprint scanner. For connectivity, options include a Thunderbolt 3 storage for faster data transfers. The laptops will last up to 22.5 hours (on the 13″ model) or 19 hours on the 15″ model, thanks to larger 72 Wh batteries under the hood. Of course, the real world usage may result in variable figures.
More info will be given regarding the new laptops at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show. Pricing and availability details will be unveiled then as well.
