Samsung’s Galaxy A8 and A8+ Feature Gorgeous Design and Top End Specs

Samsung has unveiled the updates to its prime mid-range A-series phones. The new A8 (2018) and A8+ (2018) come with wider Infinity Edge displays, waterproofing, and dual front-facing cameras.

Design and Display

The metal-based design now comes with added functionality thanks to its IP68 certification (allowing dust and water resistance), and comes in Black, Gold, Grey, and Blue.

Internals and Storage

Under the hood, you get an octa-core processor with 4 GB RAM on the smaller version, with the Plus version coming with optional 6 GB RAM. Storage options range between either 32 or 64 GB, with microSD card slots on both phones.

Camera(s)

The back comes with a bright 16 MP f/1.7 sensor with LED Flash and digital image stabilization. Hyper Lapse mode is also available.
More-importantly, the front comes with a dual 16 + 8 MP sensor, with Live Focus allowing background blur.

Battery

The battery is one of the few aspects not shared between the two devices, with the smaller phone coming with a 3,000 mAh cell and the Plus version coming with a 3,500 mAh unit. Both support fast-charging.
The Galaxy A8 will be available for 499 Euros, while the A8+ available for 599 Euros. More details should follow at the CES event next month.
