Samsung Unpacked App Hacked to Show the Real Galaxy S9 in Renders [Images]

Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus

In a new leak surfacing from XDA Developers, the phone’s 3D renders have been revealed from Samsung’s Unpacked app. This unofficially confirms the previous leaks about Galaxy S9.

Samsung’s upcoming flagship has been leaked in full over the past week, leaving nothing to the imagination.

From press renders, to specifications, camera, price, and availability, everything has been leaked about the Galaxy S9.
However, the latest development unofficially confirms all previous leaks. What makes this one different is that it has to do with AR or Augmented Reality.

Unpacked App

Every year, Samsung releases the Unpacked app for its guests at the event so that they can scan the QR codes for entry. The app can also be used to live stream the event.
In the app there’s an AR mode that gives the fans teasers or hints, leading up to the main event (on February 25th).
Someone from XDA Developers managed to break into the app’s APK and extracted 3D renders of the Galaxy S9. This was originally designed to work after you scanned your event pass, letting you see the phone in your hand in AR. However, the person from XDA modified it to view the renders beforehand.

Coming Out Soon
Samsung is all set to unveil the Galaxy S9 at the Mobile World Congress 2018 on February 25th. It will come with a similar design as the S8 albeit with improvements to the camera, better fingerprint sensor placement and slow-motion video features.
Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
