Xiaomi Launches Mi Band 3, Standalone VR Headset and a 75 Inch TV

Along with the event’s main attraction, the Mi 8 and Mi 8 Explorer Edition, Xiaomi unveiled several other new products at its Shenzhen event that was held today (Thursday) in China.
Among those products, is Xiaomi’s new 75-inch Mi TV 4, Mi VR Standalone headset and Mi Band 3. The TV comes as an addition to Xiaomi’s existing TV 4 series, it did not have a 75-inch version before. Mi VR is the company’s new VR headset that works just like an Oculus and the Mi Band 3 is the long-awaited successor of the Mi Band 2.

The Mi TV 4 lineup consists of smart TVs with mostly 4K displays and numerous modern features. The company recently unveiled a 32-inch Mi TV 4X, and now added to the lineup by launching a 75-inch variant as well – which will be the biggest, and expensive, LED TV the company has ever produced.
Mi TV 4 has a 4K display that supports HDR and has fairly minimal bezels. It shares its design language with its siblings, with a dark outer material finish and an extremely thin body. Under the hood, it has 2 GB RAM for multi-tasking and a 64-bit quad-core processor. There’s an 802.11 Wi-Fi unit and the GPU is a Mali T830.

Moreover, it will come with Xiaomi’s Xiao AI voice assistant that handles your content and learns your preferences to display suggestions. The Mi TV 4 also runs the company’s own Android-based PatchWall UI.
It costs a whopping CNY 8999 (~Rs. 162,500).

This headset has been manufactured in collaboration with Facebook’s Oculus and offers pretty much the same features as the Oculus Go. It comes with its own controllers and has a 2K fast switch screen. There’s an integrated 3.5 mm headphone jack as well and runs on a powerful Snapdragon 821 processor.

This means that the Mi VR headset will have access to over 1000 Oculus games and being a Standalone headset, it does need an external computer or smartphone to run.
It comes in two storage variants for impressive prices, 32 GB goes for CNY 1499 (~Rs. 27,000) and CNY 1799 (~Rs. 32,500) for the 64 GB variant.

Lastly, Xiaomi also announced the next version of the popular Mi Band called Mi Band 3. The fitness band retains its predecessors’ features like counting steps and heart rate monitoring, and also adds the ability to receive calls, just like a smartwatch.

The screen has also increased in size from 0.42 inches to 0.78 inches, with an OLED panel. It is a touchscreen panel with a resolution of 128 x 80 pixels compared to 72 x 40 pixels of Mi Band 2. It also has a 50% larger battery at 110 mAh. Xiaomi promises up t0 20 days of battery life for the Mi Band 3.
It also retains waterproofing and can survive at up to 50 meters underwater.

There will be 2 different variants of Mi Band 3, with and without NFC. The NFC variant will cost CNY 199 (~Rs. 3600) while the non-NFC model will be available for CNY 169 (~Rs. 3050). Mi Band 3 will be available in China from 5th June (next Tuesday).
